The Kootenai County Democrats are dedicated to electing Democratic candidates at all levels. We do that by identifying Democratic voters, energizing those Democrats through events and activities, and then turning them out at the polls on Election Day.
The governing branch of the Party in Kootenai County is the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee. It is composed of all elected and appointed precinct chairs and vice chairs. This body meets monthly on the 2nd Monday at the County Administration Building, 451 N. Government Way, CDA, beginning at 6:00 pm. This meeting is open to all. Thom George is the current Chair.
The educational and social branch of the Party is the Democratic Club which meets weekly at noon at the Iron Horse Restaurant, 407 E. Sherman Ave., CDA. This meeting is also open to all. There are announcements of Democratic events and activities as well as weekly programs of interest to Democrats. Tamara Poelstra is currently the President.
