Important Update for Caucus Participants
Coeur d’Alene--A second location for the Kootenai County Democratic Presidential Caucus will be open on Tuesday, March 22. Caucus-goers can cast their votes at either location.
There are two designated caucus sites:
The Schuller Performing Arts Center
Boswell Hall, North Idaho College
880 W. Garden, Coeur d’Alene
Jacklin Building #25
Kootenai County Fairgrounds
4056 N Government Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815
(Accessible from Kathleen Avenue Entrance Only)
Kootenai County Democratic Chair Paula Neils added the site due to the overwhelming response generated by the work of the Clinton and Sanders Campaigns. As a result of the groundswell, the original caucus site at NIC appears to be too small to hold the expected number of participants.
The second site, located at the Fairgrounds, is the recommended site for folks coming from areas north of Coeur d’Alene and those who expect to be arrive near the 6 PM deadline.
Doors open at both sites at 4:30 PM and will close to new arrivals at 6 PM.
NOTE: If the NIC site reaches legal capacity before everyone wishing to participate has been cleared for entry, additional attendees who have met the 6 PM deadline will be given a ticket and asked to relocate to the fairgrounds location. The ticket will be proof of eligibility for admittance to the caucus.
“This is an amazing happening!” exclaimed Neils. “The presidential campaigns have added new excitement and urgency to spur Democrats to action. We welcome this opportunity to bring more Democrats together in Kootenai County.”
Participants are urged to sign up for the caucus online to speed the check-in process. A whole new team of volunteers is needed. Anyone who can help please call Paula at 755-9590 right away.
