Parents, teachers, students and community members are invited to attend the 5th Annual "State of the District". The evening features a review of the proposed supplemental funding request, a look at student performance measures and a panel discussion about public education funding trends.
The funding overview will breakdown the proposed two year, $16M Maintenance and Operations Levy as well as the $35.5M Construction Bond. This presentation will be facilitated by Superintendent Matt Handelman. He will discuss how the levy and bond funds will be used, highlighting the unique opportunity we have at this time to raise the levy funds without increasing tax rates.
This presentation will be followed by a district administration review of student performance data.
The meeting will conclude with a panel discussion focusing on the past, present and future trends of public school funding in Idaho. The panel will be comprised of past and current area legislators and community members whose broad experience includes an in-depth understanding of public education funding.
This fifth annual forum is presented by the Coeur d’Alene Education Partnership (CEP) and the Coeur d’Alene School District #271.
