No Host Dinner 6-8 PM
209 East Lakeside Avenue
Coeur D'Alene, Idaho
Featuring leaders from TransForm Idaho and the Interfaith Alliance
RSVP: Kathy 208-818-8561
Idaho Interfaith Alliance and TransForm Idaho are gathering together folks who care about our democracy, and want to make a difference in the days leading up to the Nov. 6 election, and over the long term, to build a group of active, engaged, progressive citizens.
We will look at our own roles in a democracy, and what we need to do to revitalize our communities. We will learn how to talk about our progressive values, what is keeping us from having progressive public policy in Idaho, and take action to build healthy, sustainable communities where all voices are valued.
*During October and November, Democracy Circle events will be held in six towns in Northern and Southern Idaho. To inquire about attending or starting a Democracy Circle in your community, contact Pam Baldwin at email@example.com, or call us at 208-283-6560.
The Interfaith Alliance of Idaho is people of faith and goodwill who promote the positive and healing role of spirituality in public life through encouraging civic participation, facilitating inclusive community activism, and challenging religious political extremism.
The Interfaith Alliance of Idaho promotes a community building culture where food, children and our friendship circles are all a part of our social justice efforts. Relationships of trust are a priority especially at a time of wedge politics, where topics that people are less familiar with and thus less comfortable with are used to divide. A core part of our work is talking about the most polarized issues of the day: who should be allowed to get married, is it possible to be an illegal person, why control over your body is critical. By raising these topics, we defuse their power and allow us to reduce them in size and to focus on more community critical issues of the day like the rise of global war and corporate control.
